I forgot to mention, that I went to Vienna for another operetta performance of Franz Lehar's Die lustige Witwe (The Merry Widow).  It was awesome.  Then I proceeded to Budapest for Emmerich Kalman's Die Csardasfuerstin (The Gypsy Princess), which turned out to be horrible.  So here is Budapest.
Budapest was interesting.  The architecture was breathtaking, but I could almost never get a good picture of anything.  The trees and shrubbery were always blocking the view.  Or the only good view was in the middle of a four lane street.
Day One: St. Stephen's Basilica

View from the top of St. Stefan's, looking towards Buda.

I took a picture because it looks like a horse.  And for once, nothing is in the way of a half-way decent photo.

See that stupid branch in the upper right hand corner.  And those trees blocking half the facade.  Hire some gardeners.

More days to come.
